GRADUATE STUDIES APPLICATION GUIDE
WE'RE HERE TO HELP
It’s a big step. You want to make sure that the decisions you make now set you up for success. Here’s a simple six-step guide to get you started on your graduate student journey.
STEP ONE
What type of degree is right for you?
There’s so much choice. We offer online programs, in-class programs, coursework-based programs that don’t require a thesis and research-based programs that do. Flexibility is an asset, but it can be overwhelming. Start by understanding the difference between the types of degrees and your preferred method of learning. Your life situation may help you make that decision.
STEP TWO
Choose your program
Much of the rest of this publication is dedicated to outlining the different programs that are on offer. Take a deep dive and find out what’s right for you. Nailing this now can help you achieve your goals.
STEP THREE
Get to know our researchers
Understanding who our faculty members are and what they research will give you the best foundation for understanding the Faculty of Health community. This is especially important if you’re doing a thesis or research-based degree as you’ll be working closely with a faculty member as your supervisor. If you choose a course-based program, however, you won't need a supervisor.
STEP FOUR

Take part
Throughout the year, we offer webinars and events to guide you through the decisions that are ahead of you. If the event dates don’t match up with your information needs, we always provide access to recordings of past events for you to view.
NEED MORE?
Delivered directly to your inbox, get invitations to upcoming events, receive timely tips on funding and program applications and learn more about the graduate experience.
STEP FIVE
Find out if there's funding available for you
Learn about scholarships, awards and funding for our programs. Most research-based graduate degrees are eligible for funding to support you during your studies – especially for domestic students. If you’re considering a coursework-based or professional degree program, be sure to investigate your eligibility for scholarships and awards.
STEP SIX
Get your application package organized and then … submit!
Finally, you’ll need to prepare and submit your completed application. Pull together various documents, references and statements for your application. Be sure to know when deadlines are coming up - and crucially – give people who are providing supporting documents for you TIME to prepare.
