COURSES YOU'LL TAKE IN FIRST YEAR
Your first-year courses are designed to set the foundation for your learning and give you the skills and knowledge you need to be successful in your upper years.
There are no electives (or courses you need to pick) in first year - so you don't have to stress about choosing the right ones. But there's lots of space to pick your courses in upper years so you can focus your studies on the areas you’re most interested in.
HERE ARE YOUR FIRST-YEAR COURSES:
Ethan he/him, they/them
Kinesiology graduate
Currently: Medical school student
“Initially, I chose Kinesiology because it seemed like a great jumping off point for a variety of career paths in the health field. I knew I could take the degree in different directions depending on what I felt most passionate about.
Now that I'm in medical school, I'm so grateful for the strong science foundation I built in Kinesiology. But what surprised me is how much I use the other skills I learned. For example, how to approach huge amounts of information and figure out how it can best be sorted and utilized within a greater body of knowledge. This is something I need to do on a regular basis in medical school. And this skill allows me to engage in the material I'm learning in class more efficiently, leaving more time for other parts of my life like family, friends and doing things that make me happy.”
