Collaborative Water Program thanks the RBC Foundation
In 2012, the RBC Foundation generously provided 1.75 million dollars to support the development and implementation of the Water Institute’s innovative, interdisciplinary Collaborative Water Program.
This program would not have been possible without the visionary gift, and we are deeply grateful for this investment in our students and our planet.
Thank you, RBC Foundation, for your generous support.
World Water Day Celebrations
The Water Institute welcomed over 300 water researchers, industry professionals, students, and community members to an interactive virtual celebration exploring what water means to different people, its true value, and how we can better protect the vital resource together. Students of the Water Institute Graduate Section (SWIGS) presented an innovative and interactive “Water2Me” workshop, exploring ideas around our relationship with water. Anishinaabek N’Bi (water) Pedagogies by Ogamauh annag qwe (Sue Chiblow) presented contrasting Anishinaabek worldviews to mainstream society’s worldviews, exploring women’s roles and responsibilities in water governance. The afternoon concluded with the Water Institute RBC Distinguished Lecture, All We Can Save: Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson in Conversation with Dan Riskin, Healing our Oceans, our Climate, and our Injustices.
