NURTURE THE NATIONAL CYBERSECURITY CONSORTIUM
The National Cybersecurity Consortium (NCC) is a pan-Canadian network that supports the advancement of the Canadian cybersecurity ecosystem through research and development, commercialization, and training by driving collaborations amongst academia, private industry, not-for-profit organizations, provincial, territorial, and municipal governments, as well as other key cybersecurity stakeholders.
NCC is an independent federal not-for-profit organization. During 2023, NCC was staffed and launched its first call for proposals. As one of the founding members of the NCC, CPI and UWaterloo have played a critical role in this process in several ways:
- UWaterloo staff were seconded to the interim NCC team that launched the first call for proposals
- UWaterloo currently chairs the NCC Board
The value of the NCC to UWaterloo can be displayed through NCC’s first call for proposals.
CPI played a critical role in supporting CPI members as they formulated and submitted proposals for the call:
CPI seed grants were part of NCC applications
